Construction Administration

Construction administration is a service we provide when we prepare construction documents. This includes visiting sites during construction or installation to observe the contractor’s work. These visits typically occur weekly or biweekly during construction and we provide written reports, often with photographs, describing items observed which do not comply with the construction documents.  Visits and reports are provided for substantial completion and at the end of the warranty period.

During construction, changes are inevitable. Whether due to altered conditions on site, material availability, the owner’s request or a myriad of other possibilities, there’s a good chance that the constructions documents will need to be revised. Being retained for construction administration allows us to make the necessary revisions efficiently.

For projects with written specifications, we also review submittals, shop drawings, and the contractor’s applications for payment. Construction administration is a critical component of the design and construction process designed to protect the owner’s interests.
